Fire Keepers

 

Fire is essential for life. Providing warmth for comfort, heat for cooking, the ability to purify drinking water, and giving light for your camp. This is a basic fire craft class covering the following topics:

  1. The science behind fire

  2. Flame safety and responsibility

  3. Effective choosing of tinder, kindling, and firewood

  4. Preparation of materials

  5. Modern fire starting methods (match tricks, ferro rod, flint & steel)

  6. Introduction to bow drill friction fire starting

  7. Proper flame maintenance

 A fire challenge will conclude the class, putting your newfound skills to the test! 

*Children attending must be at least 12 years of age. An adult is required to accompany children under 18 years of age.
